Managing Quantity Surveyor
Construction careers and prospects are growing in Hong Kong as we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Hong Kong and serve as a Team Leader within our reputable international cost management practice.
The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise in quantity surveying, particularly within the Hong Kong Housing Authority or other Government sector projects, as well as experience in non-public residential projects as a consultant
Project Details
You will be based in Hong Kong based in our client's HQ and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Act as a Team Leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior quantity surveyors within the team.
- Take a lead role in managing quantity surveying activities for HKHA or other Government and non-public residential projects, ensuring accurate cost management and effective project delivery.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure project requirements are met within established budgets and timelines.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Conduct cost analysis, risk assessment, and value engineering to optimize project costs and enhance value for clients.
- Monitor project progress, variations, and claims, and provide timely reports to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and quality service delivery.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years or more of practical experience in administering HKHA, Government sector projects and relevant non-HKHA residential projects as a consultant.
- Post-qualification experience of at least 6 years with membership in the MHKIS;
- Demonstrated experience as a Nominated Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) in at least one consultancy agreement for new works projects for the Housing Authority.
- Strong proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and lead a diverse team.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying
- Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors) and RPS; Recognised Professional Surveyor.
