Quantity Surveyor
A new opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with previous Middle East experience to join an established main contractor in Dubai.
The employer covers a multitude of busy sectors including, residential, hospitality, healthcare, infrastructure, education, and others.
This role is suitable for a Quantity Surveyor with some Middle East experience already.
Project Details
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work as part of a busy team effectively managing all the costs relating to building and civil engineering & Infrastructure projects.
You will be based at the employer's office in Dubai and on-site on various large-scale construction projects. Successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, along with excellent analytical, problem solving, planning and contract administration skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Reporting to the Divisional Manager for the cost analysis of individual projects & overheads and for preparing the External Budget Report.
- Assist the project manager in financial control of various construction projects.
- Participating in the project kick off meeting with the successful bidder after contract award to discuss and agree project milestones
- Quantity take-off and preparation of tender and contract documents
- Preparation of Bills of Quantities with the architect and/or the client
- Preparing and analysing costing for tender purposes.
- Preparation of Budget, Provisional and Estimated cost as per the conditions of the contract.
- Review of Variations or Additional Works and Claims.
- Submission of re-measurements of the completed projects if it is a non-lump sum contract.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Stable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a top-tier main contractor or a subcontractor
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the Middle East
- Knowledge of pre- and post-contract administration.
- Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
- Candidates must have strong client-facing skills
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
- Strong communication skills as well as excellent verbal and written English
- Strong analytical capabilities
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Candidates must hold a degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar equivalent.
- RICS or other equivalent professional body membership would be preferred.
