A Contract Administrator opportunity with a rapidly expanding, reputable Project Management consultancy in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Ideally, a Contract Administrator should be able to manage some mandates or at least execute and perform the required deliverables with minimal supervision.  

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of interesting projects.

Project Details

This Contract Administrator role involves verifying contractual and commercial obligations, identifying any legal or technical challenges, and reporting to the Contract Manager.

Under the guidance of the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the contractor adheres to the contract stipulations.

This position is based in Toronto, offering the flexibility to work from home, with a leading company engaged in several large-scale infrastructure construction projects.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide expert commercial support by interpreting contract terms, collaborating with Contracts Administrators, and managing changes and payments.
  • Implement contract administration procedures, ensuring contractor compliance with insurance, bonds, and performance securities throughout the contract.
  • Oversee contractor submissions, assess performance, monitor compliance with contractual terms, and identify opportunities for on-time delivery, cost savings, and schedule optimizations.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate claims, change orders, and variations, providing recommendations and strategies for resolution.
  • Review and approve contractor progress payments, reports, and invoices, offering commercial advice to the project team.
  • Support project management by analyzing risks, addressing contractual issues, and facilitating commercial meetings and progress reviews.
  • Maintain contract compliance tools and documentation, while ensuring smooth coordination with relevant departments.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of complex contracts, from strategy to close-out, adhering to best practices and industry standards.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 8-9 years of experience of relevant experience in roles related to Contract Administration or similar capacity
  • Completion of specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations, and accounting.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in contract management, with a demonstrated ability to enhance project performance.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Proficiency in the contractual practices, policies, and procedures within the engineering and construction industry.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in interpreting and administering various contract types, fee arrangements, and contract terms.
  • Proven experience in formulating, presenting, and suggesting potential solutions for contractual challenges to management.
  •  Monitor contract closure for all contracts and purchase orders

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is desired but not essential if you have at least 8 years of relevant experience

Additional Benefits Package and Incentives

  • Generous salary based on experience & is negotiable for the right applicant, between $120,000 to $140,000 + benefits
