Senior Quantum Consultant
An established, London based claims and dispute resolution consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantum Consultant who can carry out claims and quantum analysis.
The successful candidate will likely be from a Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management background and have experience of working closely with in-house and/or external legal teams to manage the adjudication process.

Project Details
The nature of working within a specialist claims and disputes consultancy such as this, is that you will be used on a variety of assignments (sometimes concurrently) over the course of a year. The hiring company offers a range of specialist services to its clients, including (but not limited to):

Therefore, as part of your role you will be expected to work with a variety of clients from client organisations to contractors and subcontractors, across all sectors of the construction industry. You will gain exposure to claims negotiation on live projects, through to advising and preparing for dispute resolution proceedings such as adjudication, arbitration and/or litigation.
Responsibilities and Duties
This is a senior consultant role, which will report directly into the Director(s) of the business. The expectation for this role is that the successful candidate should be willing and able to manage the majority of each client’s day-to-day requirements with regards to contract administration, claims and adjudication work.
On larger, more complex dispute proceedings you will often be expected to work as part of a larger team of staff carrying out a variety of tasks, often centred around quantum analysis and report writing whilst supporting an expert.
You will on occasions have junior staff to manage and mentor as part of your role.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A successful career working as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or similar, for reputable employers
- Familiar with formal dispute proceedings. In particular, full exposure to the adjudication process from start to finish. Experience in arbitration / litigation proceedings could be a suitable replacement.
- Good knowledge of common contracts such as NEC and JCT
- Due to the current workload, previous experience on PFI contracts would be desirable in addition to the above. However, this is not essential.
- Strong reports writing skills are essential and candidates who can demonstrate prior report writing evidence will be looked upon favourably.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Completed or working towards an MSc in Construction Law or similar qualification is highly desirable
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a similar relevant subject is desired
