A great new Senior Quantity Surveyor job in Dubai to join a cost consultancy working on pre and post contract civil engineering projects.
This new Senior Quantity Surveyor job is ideal for QS and Senior QS looking to work on prestigious, large-scale aviation, civil engineering infrastructure projects on major projects such as the Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central as was).
This is a full-time, permanent position, and the employer will provide visa sponsorship for selected candidates.
Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Associate Director, as Senior QS, you will be an essential part of a collaborative team of Quantity Surveyors and Project Management professionals, contributing to a broad range of pre-contract and post-contract services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Undertake pre-contract cost estimating for major infrastructure works relating to Al Maktoum International Airport and other significant infrastructure and building projects in Dubai & the Middle East
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost plans and conduct feasibility studies
- Lead the procurement of civil engineering contractors and evaluate tenders
- Lead a team of Junior Quantity Surveyors.
- Manage live post-contract contract administration work
- Take responsibility for the team preparation of final accounts and cost reports
- Liaise directly with client contacts and contractors to ensure project goals are met and client satisfaction is achieved
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will bring:
- 10 years’ relevant postgraduate experience or equivalent is required
- A strong track record of pre-contract expertise is essential
- Proficiency in undertaking and supervising measurements of bills of quantities, cost planning, and value engineering
- Client-facing experience and excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
- Previous experience in aviation / airport construction and/or civil engineering is preferred; major building project experience to world class standards may also be acceptable
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Candidates must hold a degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognised university. Successful completion of a measurement module would be advantageous
- Candidates MUST be MRICS qualified or actively working towards MRICS qualification
