A job as a Quantity Surveyor can be rewarding and very diverse in scope. Quantity Surveyors can be employed by an end user or a cost consultancy to minimize cost and spending, or by a main contractor or specialist subcontractor to maximize the profit margin on work already won.

Quantity Surveyor jobs can be within a range of sectors including building, civil engineering, M&E and property related construction to name but a few.

The career path of a Quantity Surveyor can begin as a trainee or graduate, and progress to a management role on site or at head office running the cost and contracts function running multiple projects worth millions of pounds each.
