A fantastic Procurement Lead job based in Bristol offers the opportunity to work with a team of talented procurement professionals to deliver excellent strategic procurement and contract advice. This procurement job includes the opportunity to oversee full procurement service from the beginning of projects to the end with one of your new employer’s most important clients.
There will be opportunities for international and national travel to help and manage commissions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead a team of procurement consultants in various roles across multiple clients in the Bristol region
- Support the clients you are working for by leading the excellent delivery of commercial activity; pre-sourcing, strategic sourcing, commercial assurance of business cases, leading difficult but important negotiations about business or strategy, and many others
- Performing your role will benefit from having a knowledge of The Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations (DSPCR) and/or Public Contracts Regulations 2015
- Knowledge of Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) will also benefit you in this position
Desired Skills and Experience
- Must have experience leading one or more of these procurement disciplines:
- End to end Procurement,
- Strategic Sourcing,
- Category Management,
- Contract Management,
- Supplier Relationship Management,
- Procurement/Commercial policy experience
- Proof of delivering in complex capital and service procurements through competent contract management and sourcing
- An ability to perform using a variety of commercial models including prime contracting, outsourcing, and Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) is highly recommended
- A strong commercial and business acumen is desired
- An ability to solve procurement problems creatively and think strategically about problems is highly desired
- The ability to lead and develop teams that provide strategic direction and bespoke procurement development experience is required
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Able to pick up new tasks quickly and use initiative
- Good communication in both written and oral
- Able to deliver business improvement in multiple ways; development of policy, processes, and/or business strategy
- Experience with The Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations (DSPCR) and/or Public Contracts Regulations 2015 is desirable
- Experience with Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR)is also desirable
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A degree required and ideally relating to quantity surveying, law, or procurement
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) preferred
- Essential to hold a UK Passport, be a British National, have a UK driving license, and hold valid Security Clearance (SC or DV) [Or must be able to obtain]
