Planning Manager Rail
Civil Engineering recruitment continues apace as a major global rail systems and engineering firm is looking for an energetic, forward thinking Planning Manager with major signalling experience to join their team in Hong Kong and deliver multiple signalling projects with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installation and test & commissioning.
Project Details
You will be stationed in the client's HQ in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager - Signalling, the incumbent will:
- Participate to validate the project baseline
- Provide timely updated schedule situation highlighting the gap between the actual and the baseline P6, Excel and Narrative
- Build the project schedule based on internal standard Work Breakdown Structure, contractual targets and data provided by all stakeholders
- Initiate the weekly dashboards to monitor the progress
- Prepare schedule and progress reports; update master program, generate progress S-curves, critical paths and manpower histogram
- Prepare planning reports for internal & external meeting and for analysis of unit prices, material consumptions, actual unit man hours cost control and project budget planning
- Focus on early identification of potential delays; critical paths including the status on risks and margin related to schedule
- Work closely with Contract Manager to record the delay and disruption events Liaise and communicate with HK customer for project planning and progress matters
- Liaise and collaborate with various operation team: Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Test & Commissioning, Finance to ensure the project schedule is well respect or alert shall be raised to project manager
- Ensure the consistency of all the internal and external Stakeholders commitments, and manages the schedules interfaces
- Perform schedule analysis & trade-offs to close identified gaps or schedule issues
Desired Skills and Experience
- 8+ year experience in project management background in industrial or engineering industries preferred
- Knowledge of railways products and systems will be a plus
- Project scheduling processes experience is a MUST
- Primavera P6 practical experience is essential
- Excellent MS Excel skills is a MUST
- Punctual, accurate, detailed, analytical, articulate, able to work under time pressure are expected
- Agility to juggle with schedules simulations, various scenarios, and changing project goals
- Ability to manage the communication with customers, internal stakeholders and team
- Teamwork and transparency are expected
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
