About Planning

A role as a Planning Engineer can offer an excellent opportunity to move up the career ladder into management roles across the construction sector.

Planning Engineers or ‘Planners’ are generally utilized by main contractors to establish systems and procedures for scheduling, monitoring project progress, and planning resources. Similarly, construction consultants employ Planning Engineers to review the contractor’s schedule and analyse where potential delays could occur.

There is a broad scope of sectors where Planning Engineers can operate; including but not limited to Civil & Building Engineering, Property Development and MEP works.

Beginning as a ‘Junior Planner’ or ‘Trainee Planning Engineer’, there is the opportunity to progress into a site management role, overseeing the planning team on a specific project, or beyond this to a corporate position where you will have responsibility for all planning operations of the company across all projects.

Quality planning professionals are seen as a real asset to a company and are in great demand. We have jobs available to work on projects in Dubai and across the Middle East, Hong Kong and several locations around Asia, as well as London and the South of the UK.

Our experienced consultants at Maxim Recruitment have been finding jobs for Planning Engineers & Managers in the Middle East and globally since 2003 and are always looking for meticulous professionals to present to our clients.

About Canada

Construction workers are very much in demand in Canada. This vast country is home to construction influences from both Europe and the USA, making Canada a rich and diversified country to work and live in.

Canadian infrastructure is always being newly built, upgraded and extended, with cold weather taken into account. Job vacancies in the management levels are particularly high and with a 2.5% annual growth rate, construction jobs are on the increase.

In most of Canada’s major cities English is the official language. The notable exception is Quebec City where French is the official and most widely spoken language, as is the Quebec Province. Native languages are also spoken, but rarely in the construction industry. A speaker of French and English is highly advantageous to working in the Quebec Province, although most inhabitants are bilingual.

Living and working in Canada gives the best of both worlds. A highly organised and efficient construction industry coupled with everything city life has to offer. And for those who love the ‘great outdoors’ an almost infinite expanse of countryside, with its beautiful forests, lakes and wildlife.
