Setting the Scene for the 2022 CCPPP Conference in Toronto

Posted by Steve Thomas , Construction Recruitment Director, UK & Canada on Monday, October 17, 2022

This year the CCPPP conference celebrates its 30th anniversary, and with the event fast approaching, it seems a good time to describe what Maxim can get out of the acclaimed gathering of infrastructure experts, and what we can therefore provide to candidates considering construction work in Canada. The CCPPP Conference in Canada is one of the most important international events relating to the highly influential P3 model. The CCPPP gives this succinct definition of a P3 on their website:

“Public-private partnerships (or P3) are partnerships between governments and the private sector to build public infrastructure like roads, hospitals or schools, or to deliver services”

In recent years the industry has expanded dramatically, with the CCPPP citing on their website:

“There are now close to 300 P3 projects across this country valued at more than $135 billion”.

We attended this conference pre-Covid and we now want to extend our involvement with this innovative and evidently prosperous strategy by participating in the conference and learning more from some of the pioneers and key P3 participants currently.

The Conference offers the opportunity to network with some of the leading figures in the construction industry, most of whom have a direct or indirect involvement in the recruitment of premium construction industry staff. These additional connections will lead to even more construction job opportunities for our Canada based and international candidates seeking to move to live and work in Canada.

Specifically, there will be many opportunities for the team to talk about specialist construction jobs and specialist construction candidates with those closely involved within the booming Canadian construction market. These include roles for construction professionals such as quantity surveyor and Cost Estimator jobs, project manager jobs, Environmental Project Manager jobs and claims and dispute jobs, and many more.

The CCPPP sets out an agenda of important topics that will be discussed during the event, all of which are based on present issues and relate to exploring innovative solutions, utilizing the P3 model. The P3 model provides a solid foundation from which necessary Canadian public infrastructure can be built, in tandem with supporting the livelihoods of different individuals and businesses from the private sector.

In attendance from Maxim will be myself and Daria Tkach.  We we will be networking with some of the most important members of the construction industry, discussing recruitment requirements generated from live P3 projects and formulating specific plans to recruit candidates for exciting construction project work. All this networking and effort will go towards expanding the variety and quality of construction job opportunities for Maxim candidates and the quality of candidates available to the CCPPP conference attendees – many of whom are already or will become Maxim clients.
