Dubai Parks & Resorts is one of the most talked about developments currently underway in Dubai at present and has gathered some pace in recent weeks. The development will compromise of 3 three internal theme parks; Bollywood Parks Dubai, Motiongate Dubai and LEGOLAND Dubai.
To add to the development it will also feature Riverbank a grand entrance plaza and Lapita, a family themed hotel. Think Disneyland or similar sized attractions around the World if you are struggling to comprehend the size and scale of the projects. A mega leisure project with adjacent hotels all situated in the Jebel Ali area.
Motiongate Dubai will have four unique zones and will take visitors on a journey bringing some of the most recognisable Hollywood characters to life.
Bollywood Parks Dubai will allow fans from around the globe to visit and celebrate big names from the Indian cinema.
LEGOLAND Dubai will be the first in the Middle East with only seven around the globe; it aims to bring the LEGO brick into life with an interactive world designed for children ages 2 – 12.
Phase 1 of the development is well underway, around 30% of the infrastructure development is already complete, excavation word for the cooling facility has commenced and work on the power substation is 35% completed.
So far more than 1,500 personnel are currently developing an area of approximately 25000000 ft2; this number is expected to quadruple by 2015 with completion of the first phase set for 2016 ground work commenced on site in February 2014.
The first phase of this multibillion dollar Entertainment Park and resort is set for completion in 2016, the aim of the project is to help Dubai reach its target of attracting 20,000,000 tourists by 2020 and was announced in 2012, the cost is set to be in the region of AED 10 Billon to build, Is has been designed as a mega leisure and entertainment destination to serve all the regions that are within a four hour flying time from Dubai.
The chairman of the Developer responsible said: “The Developer is committed to developing new concepts to build Dubai’s position as one of the world’s great new cities. Dubai Parks & Resorts has been designed as the first of its kind entertainment destination that simultaneously opens the gates of three theme parks.
"The project will feature leading intellectual properties from elite industry players to create leisure and entertainment concepts that are expected to draw more than five million residents and tourists annually.
"We are confident our efforts will contribute to achieving the Dubai Tourism Vision 2020 and become the pride of our nation. We are excited to signal the start of an ambitious destination that is anticipated to generate thousands of new jobs as an international entertainment hub.”
There is a plethora of construction companies that have been awarded work on this mega development and recruitment seems to be about to be rife for this project. It's just one of a number of developments that will take place over the next 6 years on the Jebel Ali site as Dubai looks to transform this area before it hosts the 2020 World Expos.
