A Year in UK Construction Recruitment

As of May 2015 I will have completed my first full year with Maxim Recruitment. I've been mainly recruiting Quantity Surveyors, Claims professionals, and Planning staff in the busy U.K construction market. Time has flown by, and this can largely be attributed to the fact it's been a busy, successful, and enjoyable year!

It has been obvious from the start that with hard work, dedication, and the right guidance, I could thrive in a booming UK construction market. However without many of you Quantity Surveyors picking up the phone to talk to me about what’s out there, I couldn’t have grown into my client facing role where I am now the point of contact for a host of reputable companies in the UK – Whether they be smaller niche companies or global blue chip companies, one thing is for certain; all of these companies are busy.

 For me it's a matter of knowing where and when my clients need Quantity Surveying, Claims, or Planning staff as well as being in regular touch with the best talent in the market to provide them with capable individuals with relevant experience to their needs.

I have been allowed to be pro-active in my role use my own initiative in following my nose to wherever the UK market is busiest. It will be no surprise to you that London and the South East UK have performed best over the last 12 months.

I have met many interesting people on my business trips and client visits around the region, and senior managers at highly regarded companies. Many of which have put their faith in me to deliver the right candidates due to my own success and the reputation Maxim Recruitment hold in the national and international construction market.

Our international presence in the Middle East and Far East means that I have had particular success in finding work for expatriate construction professionals who wish to come back to the UK. Many of whom I was able to secure multiple interviews with reputable construction companies allowing them to choose the most suitable job offer. It has been great to work with candidates already known to Maxim Recruitment; however as the UK team grows we are growing our network every week and appreciate referrals and enquiries from candidates who have never used Maxim previously.

Maxim is a recruitment consultancy that offers a premium recruitment service. This means that we are not mass CV shifters; we do specialist, niche recruitment for a select network of reputable clients and individuals. For me, this is Quantity Surveying, Claims, and Planning staff in the UK in various construction sectors. Currently our strongest and most active areas of focus in the UK are London, South East, and the Midlands.
