Project Details
The company's portfolio primarily includes office fit-out projects and residential work. Due to the nature of the work in Dubai, the suitable candidate must have strong client-facing skills and experience working in the Middle East.
Prior postgraduate experience of working in the United Kingdom within a quantity surveyor or cost consultancy firm is strongly preferable, as well as a related degree accredited within the UK.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee and lead quantity surveying services across multiple projects, ensuring consistency and high standards in all deliverables.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, including cost planning, value engineering, and life-cycle costing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution and repeat business opportunities.
- Regularly communicate with clients and stakeholders on project progress, budget updates, and any financial impacts, providing expert advice as needed.
- Support business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities and assisting with proposal preparation and bidding processes.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 10 years of relevant Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Consulting experience either from consultancy or main contractor background
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the United Kingdom and the Middle East
- Knowledge of pre- and post-contract administration.
- Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.
- Candidates must have strong client-facing skills
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
- Experience in managing and development client relationships
- Strong communication skills as well as excellent verbal and written English
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or a similar subject from a recognised university
- Professional qualification such as MRICS is preferred not essential
