Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP)
A leading UK main contractor with overseas offices requires an MEP Quantity Surveyor at a senior level to work on a $22m MEP Contract in St Kitts in the Caribbean. This is a contract based position until the end of the project, which is expected to be completed in September 2016. There will be potential for a permanent role thereafter, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Project Details
The project is a 5* hotel project valued at $72.5m with an extensive MEP package of $22m. The hotel consists of 126 guest rooms over 80,000m2 and numerous public buildings around the complex. The project is based on the picturesque Island of St Kitts in the East of the Caribbean. The contract being used for this project is Design & Build FIDIC Yellow Book.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will join a small commercial team operating on this ongoing project and take full responsibility for the sizable MEP package ($22m) on the project.
This is purely a post contract role and you will be involved in managing the sub-contractors and dealing with contractual issues that may arise.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Candidates must have had exposure to major MEP packages on large scale construction projects. working for a main contractor or sub-contractor
- Strong experience of working in post contract roles for reputable contractors is desired
- Experience of using FIDIC form of contract would be an advantage but not essential
- Excellent English is required (Written and verbal)
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A degree qualification or similar equivalent is desired
