Senior Quantity Surveyor

A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to work for a large North East London based construction company specialising on residential projects in London and the South East.

Project Details

The company carry out a range of new build, refurbishment and maintenance work on residential projects.
The majority of this work is carried out on a Partnership basis with clients including local councils, RSL’s, ALMO’s and education & health organisations.

Related construction activities include:
- New Housing and Development
- New Social and Education projects
- Major refurbishment
- Estate and area regeneration
- Decent Homes and planned maintenance
- Reactive maintenance

Responsibilities and Duties

• To maintain established profit margins.
• To price all works in line with current market conditions.
• To improve where possible company profits.
• To ensure contracts are financially controlled, to budget and to the clients requirements.
• To manage target costs.
• To prepare monthly cost reconciliation for Division Manager.
• To undertake site visits in preparation of all tenders and take photographs.
• To prepare tenders based on estimating procedures.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a stable employment history as a Quantity Surveyor
- Candidate must be able to manage projects from initial appraisals through to completion
- Previous experience within the residential sector is desired
- Good knowledge of current forms of contract
- Excellent communication skills

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

- A formal qualification in a relevant subject such as Quantity Surveying is desired
