Senior Quantity Surveyor job vacancy to join the cost management team of a premium cost consultancy in Toronto, Ottawa.

Only suitable to candidates who are legally eligible to work in Canada.

Project Details

The Senior Quantity Surveyor role will involve producing estimates, collaborating with internal and external partners, mentoring team members, and providing leadership within the team.

The projects will range from linear infrastructure, rail, commercial, institutional, and public sector projects.

Working from home few days a week available.

Responsibilities and Duties

Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities will be:

  • Produce accurate estimates for Linear Infrastructure and Rail projects while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather project data, analyze requirements, and deliver comprehensive cost assessments.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities, serving as a source of motivation and inspiration for the team.
  • Exhibit a self-starter mentality, taking initiative to identify and solve complex challenges in a proactive manner.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in the field, showcasing a deep understanding of cost consulting and quantity surveying.
  • Proven experience in linear infrastructure, rail, commercial, institutional, and public sector projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools.
  • Exceptional relationship-building abilities to foster effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Impeccable attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and reports.
  • Effective time management to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science or in a related field
  • a PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor) designation and maintain membership in good standing with CIQS (Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors).
