This an amazing opportunity for Senior Cost Consultant to join a leading cost consulting practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. The successful applicant will be working within the Cost Consulting & Project Management division.
Project Details
Senior Cost Consultant work on a number of concurrent projects at different stages of completion, and assisting with handling a range of complicated situations to successful conclusion.
You will be supporting cost management team with new and existing clients in institutional, commercial, residential buildings, industrial construction and infrastructure sectors. Working from home few days a week available.
Successful Cost Consultant candidate will have a solid understanding of the construction industry, estimating, budgeting, planning, payment scheduling.
Responsibilities and Duties
Senior Cost Consultant responsibilities will be:
- Providing a full range of cost estimating services to new and existing clients
- Prepare estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage
- Conduct needs analysis and innovate solutions which meet the client’s unique requirements
- Completion of design efficiency analysis, along with full trade and elemental take-off
- Produce benchmarking reports for construction and development costs
- Pricing of estimates
- Conduct tender analysis and cost reconciliation exercises
- Prepare front-end cost reports to support cost estimates
- Undertaking and completion of periodic site inspections & estimating reports
- Assist in preparation of change order review analysis and lifecycle cost estimates
- Maintain ongoing client communication and resolve issues as required. Escalate issues to the next level of management as required.
- Collaborate with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare proposals/reports
- Liaising with clients
Desired Skills and Experience
- Ideally 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor/ Cost Consultant / Estimator. Ideally from PQS Professional Quantity Surveyor background working in a cost consultancy, private practice or a client
- Intermediate level of understanding of construction estimates
- Knowledge of the construction industry - development, contracting & consultant services
- Experience and capability of carrying out cost and commercial duties
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Great enthusiasm towards developing your career
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Good organisation skills, with ability to organise and prioritise work
- IT literate is essential, with a high level of proficiency in MS Word and Outlook
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science or in a related field
