Senior Claims Consultant
A Director is required to join a UK based construction claims consultancy in their Pontefract office, West Yorkshire.
Project Details
Projects will predominantly be in major infrastructure, power generation, transportation, and large industrial installation. Claim values can exceed £100m, with project values exceeding £500m in some cases. Currency of claims will vary between Sterling, Euros, and US Dollars.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage live project claims on major UK and international construction projects
- Manage a team of Claims Consultants in the office
- Business development duties to grow an existent client base in the UK and overseas
- High level claim report writing
- Assessing contract termination
- Cost and Damages analysis
- Dispute resolution and mediation
- Submitting claims and claim defence on behalf of clients
- Client meetings in the UK and overseas (work is done from the UK office however)
Desired Skills and Experience
- Vastly experienced in construction claims and disputes
- Knowledge of construction programmes and efficient use of programme charts and softwares
- Strong Quantity Surveying background on major projects
- Excellent report writing skills
- Experience of managing staff on construction disputes
- Business development experience
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Member of Fellow of the RICS or InstCES
- Further qualifications in Construction Law are beneficial
- Degree in relevant construction discipline is strongly preferred
