A Senior Claims Analyst Manager job is available in Toronto to devise, manage and monitor claims on high-risk projects and contracts. Projects include major rail and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
- As Senior Claims Analyst, you will collaborate with the project team to include Commercial, Change Management, Operational, Technical Staff & Planning Teams) on contractual and claims matters.
- You will develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize contractual disputes and assess & analyze contractual claims, including entitlement reviews, time extensions, and cost claims.
- You will have an in depth knowledge of P6 and delay analysis, working closely with schedulers to put together fragnets for delay events.
- You will be expected to effectively and proactively manage claims from preparation of notice, record keeping, establish entitlement, validate data, demonstrate and prove time and costs, measure, quantify, submit, negotiate, crystalize disputes, prepare briefing notes to commercial, counsel and management.
- You will prepare and present concise and insightful reports on contractual and claims issues to management and negotiate and resolve contractual disputes with contractors effectively.
- Additionally, you will mentor and guide junior team members on claims best practices and leverage your expertise in CCDC, FIDIC or other standard forms of contracts to ensure compliance and project success.
- You will also develop effective contract management systems, procedures and tools to support the business, engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience working in Canada, the UK, Australia or the Middle East is strongly preferred
- Ideally a minimum 12 years in contract management, administration, claims preparation, and rebuttal on major infrastructure projects, preferably Metro/LRT/transport-related projects
- A mix of contracting and consulting background experience is preferable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
- LLM / MSc construction/ contract law is preferable
- Post graduate qualifications an advantage
- Membership in recognized professional bodies (e.g., PQS, MRICS, MIOB) is preferred
- Membership (or Fellowship) in Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb/FCIArb) is highly desirable
- Canadian Citizenship or the current right to work in Canada is desirable although visas can be obtained for strong candidates with good international experience on major projects

Additional Benefits Package and Incentives
Salary will be based on claims experience but may be within the range of up to $140,000 to $150,000 (roughly £75,000 to £81,000) + usual benefits
