An employee centric roofing, facades and interiors company is seeking to appoint an energetic and forward thinking Sales Director to grow their India and Middle East business, based in the buzzing, modern textile capital of South India that is Coimbatore. 

Project Details

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead our growth in India and the Middle East, focusing primarily on roofing systems and, to a lesser extent, façade systems.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of these systems, a proven track record in business development, and the ability to establish and manage our client’s new office in India.

This role requires a well-presented, professional individual with exceptional leadership skills to represent our company effectively in the market.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand client’s customer base across India and the Middle East.
  • Identify new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Work closely with client’s local JV partner to promote brand presence and market awareness.
  • Develop relationships and communication networks with brand owners, property owners, architects and consultants.
  • Provide technical expertise on roofing and façade systems to clients and internal teams.
  • Conduct product presentations, seminars, and technical discussions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategic decisions.
  • Attend industry functions such as association events, conferences, exhibitions and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns and oversee internal and external communications and presentations including content for the company website, company profile, company brochure providing a strong branding strategy.
  • Using knowledge of the market clients and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Lead the establishment and management of the new Indian office, including recruitment, team development, and operational setup.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales targets.
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments to maintain a better understanding of the company’s operations to more effectively sell their services.  
  • Maintain all Customer Relationship Management systems
  • Work with tender staff to ensure that client expectations are being met within the tender proposal.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive experience in design, delivery and operations within system roofing and facades.
  • Demonstrable track record of selling, primarily within the roofing industry.
  • Expert in reading and understanding of tender documents, specifications, drawings and Terms & Conditions
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen; strong calculating skills including the use of calculation software
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong persuasion, negotiating and closing skills.
  • Excellent organizational & people management skills.
  • Lead by example, demonstrate trust in the team and portray expertise in the role
  • Excellent networking skills.
  • Prior experience in setting up or managing operations in India would be a distinct advantage.
  • You will work closely with all departments within the company to ensure they have the latest information on design, production, material and installation methods that will help in generating new business opportunities.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Whilst a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design or related subject is advantageous it is not essential. Demonstrable relevant experience is much more important.
