Recruitment Consultant
Maxim Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Recruitment Consultant to join our Leicester based team, specialising in permanent construction recruitment.
In this role, you will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including managing employer vacancies and identifying new ones, identifying, attracting, assessing, shortlisting, and onboarding premium candidates for permanent positions within client organizations.
Your expertise will be crucial in aligning candidates' skills with clients' requirements, ensuring a seamless and successful recruitment experience.
Previous experience in recruitment, sales, business development or proactive customer service is desired, although promising graduates or early career professionals will also be considered.
Project Details
In your recruitment consultant job role, you will work with high quality construction jobs and high calibre construction professional job seekers and match them together to secure a recruitment fee and of course your sales bonus.
Using your research, organisational and sales skills, you will help employers to recruit great employees and help your candidates to advance their careers in the professional construction and engineering sector.
We cover the construction recruitment market both in the UK and internationally in locations such as Canada, Dubai, Hong Kong and Australia.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Client Engagement:
- Identify and secure permanent recruitment opportunities by researching, contacting and agreeing to represent clients that have professional construction vacancies to be filled
- Establish, negotiate, and agree on terms and conditions of business with clients.
- Continually develop and manage client/employer relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and quality standards.
- Candidate Sourcing and Assessment:
- Research, identify, and attract suitable candidates using a variety of professional recruitment and executive search methods
- Assess candidates' skills, qualifications, and cultural fit to meet client requirements.
- Conduct interviews and shortlist and present qualified candidates to clients and facilitate the interview and evaluation process.
- Process Management:
- Ensure all recruitment processes comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Accurately complete all necessary processes and aftercare services in line with Maxim Recruitment company policies.
- Performance and Development:
- Meet agreed activity levels to ensure you can fully service the construction employers you want to and are already working with
- Develop your professional manner and sales techniques and recruitment strategies to enhance your performance and outcomes for your client employers and the candidates you work with
Desired Skills and Experience
Applicants for this Recruitment Consultant job will ideally have the following experience, or if not, will demonstrate transferrable skills and/or be able to demonstrate following knowledge, skills and behaviours to be able to undertake the role of Recruitment Consultant quicky after full training has been provided.

- Understand permanent recruitment models and processes and how to ensure successful outcomes for the employer and jobseeker customers you are representing
- Demonstrate your awareness of your legal responsibilities in areas such as equality, diversity, and inclusion, using the required recruitment processes and standards
- Skills:
- Possess or quickly develop an ability to identify and convert sales leads into new clients, candidates, and ultimately to permanent construction recruitment placements.
- Demonstrate Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Suitable applicants must have a good standard of written and spoken English and be able to evidence solid IT skills.
- Strong analytical skills must also be demonstrated, and you should be able to learn key tasks and be able to evaluate and apply information quickly and accurately
- You should feel confident in your ability to develop and demonstrate strong sales and marketing behaviours.
- You will need to be able to write job descriptions and write reports on candidates eloquently and lucidly without mistakes.
- You MUST already have the right to live and work in the UK as this is a UK based position, and we are unable to offer work visa sponsorship

Following successful completion of the initial 3 months training and probation period, it is possible for working from home (WFH) arrangements for a few days a week to be discussed.
