This is a newly created vacancy with a small but rapidly growing specialist residential contractor based in Chelsea, London. The successful candidate will perform in a dual role of managing the post contract work on a 9 flat refurbishment in Chiswick whilst also helping the business with their tendering and estimating.

Project Details

The successful candidate will work as the Quantity Surveyor on a 9 flat refurbishment project is Chiswick. You will also work as the companies only QS member of staff and advise on commercial issues throughout their portfolio of projects, whilst also taking a prominent role in the companies tendering activity.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Presenting detailed information on the costs of labour, plant and materials.
  • Preparing and agreeing projected final accounts/valuations, the penultimate final account and loss and expense claims.
  • Producing accurate quotes for upcoming/potential business.
  • Delivering and discussing these quotes with your clients - presenting directly to clients in the showroom when required.
  • Identifying new tender opportunities.
  • Pricing and negotiating tenders.
  • Preparation and submission of specifications and contractor’s proposals.
  • Preparing cost/value reconciliation reports to show actual profit/loss and anticipated profit/loss.
  • Following up on new tender applications.
  • Meeting with potential clients to discuss the company with them.
  • Taking briefs on new projects.
  • Taking clients on site visits to completed or part-completed projects.
  • Assisting with general project management and project coordination including taking materials to site if required.
  • Preparation, submission and monitoring programmes.
  • Co-ordinating with site staff and suppliers.
  • Assisting in project handover

  •  Excellent administration skills with a methodical approach
  •  Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  •  High levels of numeracy and accuracy with a keen eye for detail
  •  The ability to manage own workload without direction
  •  Articulate and well presented with a friendly personable manner

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  •  A degree or similar equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying is essential - A driving License is essential
