Quantity Surveyor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a first class Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international construction consultancy in a Tunbridge Wells office. You will be joining a successful team as a Quantity Surveyor, playing an integral role in the continuing success of a multi-disciplinary office. You will be working on commercial property, education, leisure, residential and healthcare projects.
Project Details
Projects will include commercial property, education, leisure, residential and healthcare projects. The majority of work will be new build and / or refurbishment, with project values ranging from £1m - £20m+, with some of the larger projects reaching a far higher value than this with a high level of complexity.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide effective delivery of Quantity Surveying services across a wide range of market sectors from project inception through to completion
Prepare Cost Plans/Estimates/Bills of Quantities/Tender Documents
Provide post contract Quantity Surveying services
Assist in mentoring and development of junior staff
Work collaboratively with other service teams to provide an integrated approach to client delivery.
Managing client relationships and service delivery on a project basis, in conjunction with senior management
Provide support to QS Team Leaders as required on all business issues
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with both private and public sector clients (desirable, not essential)
Working knowledge of JCT or NEC forms of contract
You should have experience of cost planning, pre and post contract project responsibilities, and be able to deliver this service effectively to Clients.
You will have the ability to manage a project throughout its lifecycle
Great interpersonal skills, an ability to communicate effectively (both internally and with Clients), and a willingness and determination to progress your career quickly.
You will have the necessary ambition and drive to deliver a high quality professional service.
An ability to make you own informed decisions and work unsupervised when necessary.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or similar is strongly desirable
Ideally be a chartered member of the RICS or actively working towards membership (desirable, willingness to undertake is acceptable for the right candidate)
