Quantity Surveyor

A Quantity Surveyor is required to work for the Construction Division of a leading Midlands Main Contractor

Project Details

Projects within the business typically range from £1m - £15m, however the company are capable of and have completed much larger projects than this previously. Their work is exclusively within the built environment, with specific project sectors including:

- Education
- Accommodation
- Commercial
- Industrial
- Retail
- Public Sector Works
- Leisure

Responsibilities and Duties

You will be responsible for the cost control projects, subcontract procurement and risk management. You will have experience working on a broad spectrum of projects which will enable you to allocate and analyse works to arrange payments. You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, and be able to find innovative ways to solve problems.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Candidates should come from a strong main contractor background
- Candidates should be able to work as a QS largely independently on projects / packages totalling £1m or over
- Previous experience of working on projects in the built environment is essential

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

- Candidates will ideally be qualified to Degree level or hold a similar equivalent qualification in construction / Quantity Surveying related subject

The hiring company are an established Midlands based main contractor. Most associated with Nottingham, due to their Head Office being based there, the company are carrying out work throughout the East Midlands and into surrounding areas such as the West Midlands and Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire. The company turnover circa £85m per annum and employ over 100 staff.
