Quantity Surveyor
A Quantity Surveyor is required in Newcastle Upon Tyne to manage commissions of varying sizes in the built environment, for an first class international construction consultancy. You will initially cost manage refurbishment projects between £1m-£2m in contract value, and also assist on much larger projects between £20m - £40m in value.

You will work predominantly on education, hotels and hospitality projects with scope to diversify as you progress your career.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Fulfil the role of Quantity Surveyor with minimal supervision on smaller commissions
- Assist Senior QS’s and Associates on major schemes up to £40m in value
- Work predominantly with the JCT contract with exposure to the NEC contract from time to time
- Cost Estimates
- Cost Planning
- Feasibility studies
- Post contract change management duties
- Prepare tender and contract documents, and analyse tenders
- Monthly valuations
- Other Pre and Post contract Quantity Surveying duties
- Provide interface with client
Desired Skills and Experience
- Shown experience as a post graduate Quantity Surveyor
- Experience on building sector projects is strongly preferred
- Experience of the JCT contract is preferred
- Experience working for a consultancy or main contractor are both considered
- Ambitious
- Ability to work within teams
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Working towards MRICS is desired or willingness to undertake
- Degree qualified
