Project Details
As Project Manager, you will work on a range of infrastructure projects delivered from cradle to grave across the full project life cycle.
Projects may include transport, rail, highway, utilities, and other major infrastructure schemes, as well as industrial projects.
As PM, you will have responsibilities spanning early-stage planning, procurement, construction, and close-out.
Responsibilities and Duties
This is a hands-on client side consultancy project management role suited to a candidate seeking to build broad infrastructure experience. Project Manager job duties to include:
- Supporting planning, procurement, and early-stage project development activities
- Assisting with project delivery through live construction phases
- Managing elements of project development and delivery under senior project management guidance
- Undertaking scheduling, cost control, and cost management tasks
- Supporting project estimating activities
- Coordinating consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
- Undertaking client-facing responsibilities and supporting client liaison in a professional and diplomatic manner
- Assisting with reporting, progress tracking, and project controls
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have gained practical experience working on infrastructure or construction projects, ideally from a general contractor background.
This is likely to include:
- Experience in scheduling, cost control, cost management, and project coordination
- Experience in project estimating
- Experience if working in a commercially focussed Contractor environment
- Client-facing experience or capability with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, diplomatic approach when dealing with clients and stakeholders
- Typically around 5+ years of relevant project experience
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline such as Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
- Working towards professional certification or chartership is desirable
