Procurement Consultant
A new and exciting Procurement Manager job opportunity based in Manchester, with a growing global professional services company with a specialist procurement division.
The successful candidate will likely have a strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development and tender preparation.
The ideal Procurement Consultant candidate will have experience within property, construction, transport, rail, oil & gas, power, water, nuclear and MOD/ defence sectors.

As a Procurement Manager, there will also be an exciting opportunity to work with market-leading clients to provide full procurement services from beginning to end, with a chance to travel both nationally and internationally to help organise commissions.
This role involves procurement delivery and commercial strategies from inception to contract award and developing tender and contract documentation as well as management of the tender process through to contract award.
Flexible remote working is supported on the basis that candidates understand that there will need to be regular weekly visits to the office for specific meetings and tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform the obligations of a Procurement Manager and Contracts Consultant
- Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to both private and public sector clients.
- Support the growth of the procurement services provided.
- To help with marketing and business development of the division.
- To support on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contract services division.
- To support the execution of both team and wider business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience across the full procurement lifecycle, including tender preparation and development as well as strategy development.
- Experience of various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
- Contract development and contract drafting; terms, negotiation and award.
- Experience in Public and/or Utilities Contract Regulations procurement.
- Market engagement.
- Supply chain intelligence and supplier relationship management.
- Commercial development
- Experience utilising e-procurement software.
- Ideally have worked projects valued over £50m.
- Good communication skills, adaptable and an ambition to succeed.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Ideally a BSc in Quantity Surveying, law, procurement or civil engineering or a degree in another construction related field.
- Preferably MCIPS qualified.
