Project Details

Loan Monitoring Surveyor's role will be to focus on complex building projects and the key financial monitoring and reporting processes to ensure smooth and profitable financial closure.

Ideal Loan Monitoring Surveyor candidates will have direct experience working as part of a construction, contractor, or development group focused on loan and project monitoring.

The successful candidate will be based from the employer’s office in Kelowna, BC with the flexibility to work from home as this premium consultancy supports hybrid working arrangements.

Cost Consultant Loan Monitoring Surveyor is needed to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare and undertake periodic reviews of progress claim reports, including submitting invoices
  • Conduct periodic site inspections occasionally and review reports produced by team members
  • Valuation of changes, analysis of progress on-site, and recommendation of loan advances
  • Prepare budget reviews through detailed analysis of development proposals with comprehensive knowledge of typical Lenders’ requirements and terms of engagement
  • Establish spatial analysis for a sector of buildings
  • Be aware of market intelligence and market rates for construction as well as different procurement routes and contracts in the marketplace;
  • Accountable for coordinating workload and team resources
  • Mentor junior to intermediate level team members
  • Network regularly by utilizing local market knowledge to promote the business, cross-selling and building new contacts and clients

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2 to 8 years of related experience. Ideally from PQS Professional Quantity Surveyor background working in a cost consultancy, private practice or a client
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills combined with sound judgment and initiative
  • Self-motivated with good organizational, communication, and report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and ability to work to own initiatives
  • Understand specialist consultant reports and impact on development proposals
  • Understanding of the construction industry - development, contracting, and consultant services
  • Passion for business development and managing client relationships
  • Valid driving license

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Qualification to Degree level in a relevant cost or construction related subject is strongly desirable
  • Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Member RICS (or close to obtaining such status)
