A new Director Loan Monitoring position with a premium multidisciplinary consultancy in Montreal, Canada.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced loan monitoring professional to enhance their career with a prestigious organisation.

The employer is looking for French-speaking Loan Monitoring professionals with around 10 years of experience.

Being a fluent French speaker is an essential requirement for the role.

Project Details

The role will entail guiding a team of consultants to efficiently deliver cost services. This includes overseeing client delivery, revenue management, business development, providing technical expertise, and leading the consultant team.

To be successful in this role, a successful Director Loan Monitoring candidate must have a full technical understanding of construction estimation and loan monitoring.

You will be reporting to a Senior Director and collaborating with the management team on diverse asset types and accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients. 
  • Possess trade/product knowledge and the ability to analyze partial/full trade/elemental budgets.
  • Understand pricing structures for residential, ICI, and civil projects, as well as M&E systems.
  • Analyze general conditions breakdown, change orders, and comparative/tender analysis, and coordinate/deliver reports using appropriate software such as Excel, Cost X, and PowerPoint.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team for complex projects and direct workload to maximize team efficiency.
  • Conduct final review and sign off on reports for lenders and payment certificates for developers, and act as the senior level contact and independent interface between lenders and developers.
  • Develop and build long-term client relationships which result in repeat business,
  • Lead the assessment of client requirements, conduct project reviews and deal with issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide direction, leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the team, including input on hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations, and manages training and development needs to ensure workforce competency

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10 + years’ of leadership experience in commercial real estate or related field with a multi-dimensional understanding of the real estate consulting and advisory industry.
  • Full and deep understanding of Cost Planning and Loan Monitoring services, with extensive knowledge of the local construction & real estate industry, public and private owners, general contractors, sub-trades, contracts, Lien Acts, pricing
  • Proficient in using MS Office, CostX, and Estate Master.
  • Self-motivated
  • Proven strategic thinking, analytical skills and strong business acumen, with a focus on business development.
  • Client service orientation with proven leadership skills
  • Fluent French

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Member RICS (MRICS) is required.
