Delay Analyst Manager
An experienced Delay Analyst is required to work for an American expert and advisory consultancy with a growing UK business.
You will work as part of a small team including a highly reputable delay expert witness in a mid-management role, supporting the expert with their day-to-day tasks on major domestic and international arbitrations.
This is a truly remote role, where the successful candidate could be based anywhere in the UK and perform the vast majority of their work from home. However, the successful candidate will need to be able to make themselves available for critical progress meetings with clients (often in London) when required. Sometimes this may be at short notice.
Project Details
The client is a specialist expert and advisory consultancy who generate exciting, high-profile assignments on domestic and international arbitrations and litigations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the businesses lead delay analysis expert witness and support them on assignments which can relate to projects across all sectors of the construction industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
Your role will be to work in a mid-management role, both supporting the Delay Expert Witness with day-to -day analysis and reporting, whilst also providing some support to junior analysts within the business.
Specific duties within the role will include (but is not limited to):
- Carrying out a variety of delay analysis techniques based on programmes and project documentation to establish key factors relating to disputes.
- Forensically investigating project documentation such as programmes presented by parties involved in the dispute, to establish whether they are a true reflection of events.
- Using alternative sources of information such as emails, site diaries and similar to establish a true version of events relating to the project and dispute.
- Reporting your analysis and evidence
- Liaising with various parties involved in the dispute and their legal representatives
Desired Skills and Experience
- Must have prior experience of assisting a delay expert witness on construction disputes.
- Ideally have had a successful career as an engineer, project manager, planner or similar and have built up a good knowledge of the construction process.
- Familiar with using planning software’s such as Primavera P6 and ASTA Powerproject. You do not need to be an expert user of such software’s; however, a good understanding and some practical use is required.
- Carried out delay analysis as part of your role, or your full-time role and be familiar with different delay analysis techniques.
- Highly analytical in your approach to work and be able to forensically analyse programmes and other relevant documentation to prove its validity.
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent IT skills. Particularly the use of MS Word and MS Excel
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A Degree in a relevant construction subject is essential
- Completed or working towards a higher qualification in construction law such as an LLM / MSc is desired, however may not be essential for candidates with prior experience in this type of role.
