An exciting new Contract Manager Capital Projects & Infrastructure job opportunity with a premium multidisciplinary consultancy in Dublin.

Suitable Contract Manager candidates can come from an engineering, technical, construction and law or contracts background.

Project Details

As a Contract Manager of Capital Projects & Infrastructure, you will be working within the Capital Programme Delivery Department. This Irish consulting practice operates in various sectors such as energy, utilities, transport, housing and healthcare. 

The Contract Manager will be responsible for supervising contract management activities for construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, managing risks effectively, and optimizing overall project success.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate directly with infrastructure clients to generate innovative insights and solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams to devise contract management plans in alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Take charge of the contract formation process, encompassing drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with our client's subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensure strict adherence to contract terms, conditions, and specifications, identifying potential risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Handle contract changes, variations, and claims, evaluating their impact on project scope, schedule, and cost, and securing necessary approvals.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate contractual risks, collaborating closely with project stakeholders to address issues and minimize disruptions.
  • Monitor contract performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and deliverables, providing regular updates to project teams and management.
  • Facilitate the resolution of contract disputes and claims through negotiation, mediation, or other dispute resolution mechanisms, ensuring timely and equitable outcomes.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and external partners, promoting collaboration and alignment with project objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, records, and reports, preparing regular status reports and presentations for project stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous background in construction contract management or administration
  • Experience in consulting or a comparable client-facing role is preferred.
  • Versatile expertise encompassing project management, contract management, and procurement.
  • In-depth understanding of contract management principles and practices, covering contract administration, risk management, change management, and dispute resolution.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish connections and influence stakeholders across various levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail, adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience with the following contract forms FIDIC, LOGIC, NEC
  • Previous experience of working in Ireland is advantageous.  Irish expats seeking to return to Ireland would also be of interest

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field
