Associate Director Procurement

The ideal candidate will have a strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development and tender preparation.
Looking for an experienced Procurement Professional with vast experience in either procurement or contract management.
Project Details
The successful Associate Director -Procurement will be leading a team who delivers best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to one of the hiring company’s key public and private sector sectors.
They have clients across various commissions, some of which include rail, nuclear, mining, MOD and many others,
The wider team includes specialists in procurement and contract strategy, claims management and dispute resolution services.
Hybrid working arrangements are available, although the clients dictate the working model.
A competitive salary package is on offer commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Some of the key responsibilities and duties of this Associate Director – Procurement role will include:
- Providing specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients.
- Managing end-to-end procurement services on major construction/defence related projects.
- Support the development of the procurement services provided by the business.
- Supporting business development and marketing of the procurement division.
- Supporting the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
- Supporting on bid preparation and proposal documentation and supporting the work-winning capability of the procurement division.
- Leading and assisting with the development of contract sourcing and commercial strategies that reflect the needs of the business.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A strong background across the procurement lifecycle, including strategy development, tender preparation and development.
- Excellent experience of various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
- Previous experience of providing specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients
- Supply Chain Intelligence
- Contract Management
- Public and/or Utilities Contract Regulations procurement
- Commercial modelling
- Contract drafting; terms, negotiation and award
- Security Cleared candidate would be ideal
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- A BSc related to Quantity Surveying, civil engineering, law or procurement or other construction-related field or equivalent and/or be MCIPS is preferred.
