Associate Director - Delay

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Director – Delay to join a thriving international consultancy's disputes division in Dubai. Project Details

The hiring consultancy works across a broad range of sectors in the construction and engineering industry, ensuring an exciting variety of project exposure. Projects span sectors including:

This role would suit current Associate Directors working within delay disputes as well as Delay Senior Consultants who can demonstrate significant delay experience on live projects/contracts and is capable to undertake work without training.

Responsibilities and Duties

Specific duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Conducting  forensic analysis to support alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.
• Overseeing contract administration and assess programme performance.
• Prepare and analyse schedules, assess progress, and identify project risks.
• Draft and contribute to reports for negotiations and formal dispute resolution procedures.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, contributing to team development.
• Represent the consultancy at industry networking events, building relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Proven experience working in a claims/disputes consultancy, ideally assisting or supporting an Expert.
• A solid track record in delay analysis, with the ability to perform tasks autonomously and to a high standard.
• A background in engineering or as a project planner, with hands-on experience in live project planning and programme development.
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to draft persuasive and technically accurate reports.
• Confidence in client-facing roles, with a professional demeanor.
• Experience in the GCC region
• Ideally already based in Dubai.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Degree level education in a construction related field or similar equivalent qualification is desired.
• Membership to a professional body such as the CIOB or CIArb would be advantageous.
• Relevant MSc in engineering and/ or Construction Law and Disputes LLM would be a strong advantage.
