For those with construction careers or related, A major HK statutory organisation is looking for an energetic, forward thinking Senior Project Manager to join their team.

Project Details

This is a departure from our normal construction recruitment as our client is a critical government linked institution and coordinating body established in 2007 to improve the quality and competitiveness of the construction industry sectors and promote good practices.

Our client acts as a communications platform / channel and is empowered to formulate codes of conduct, share knowledge, reflect the industry’s needs, improve labour relations, promote health & safety and sustainable construction and elevate the standards and skills of the industry via funding research and organising vocational training.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • To lead the Project Team in ensuring that all projects and works are carried out with the highest standard of safety in compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and completed successfully with the desired outcomes within the specified timelines and budgets;
  • To develop and implement project management policies, procedures and standards
  • To work closely with project owners, as well as internal support departments such as Corporate Safety, Estates Office to ensure that the progress and outcome of the project, works meet the required standard
  • To ensure that all stakeholders are kept well informed of the progress of the projects, works and that all issues, especially safety, are addressed in a timely manner
  • To review the standard requirement on a regular basis to ensure that they meet the updated legal and market requirements and achieve the highest standard of safety and value for money and make recommendations for enhancement as appropriate to the management
  • To manage the supervision of all projects, works undertaken by client, from planning, design stage to completion
  • To report the progress of all projects, works of client regularly to management accurately and timely
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years’ working experience in the project management in construction field, with proven experience in managing capital works, repair & maintenance works and other corporate events projects, works
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices; Proven track record in developing standards and requirement for projects, works covering the full project cycle from planning & design to procurement, to contract administration, to vendor management, to site supervision to inspection of work completion
  • Safety mindset with a deep understanding of safety regulations and standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and internal departments
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to review project requirements, ensure compliance with regulations, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Proven leadership abilities to manage and supervise projects from planning, design stage to completion, while meeting deadlines, budgets, and maintaining the highest safety standards
  • Well versed with policies and procedures in public bodies or sizeable organisations
  • Innovative mindset, proactive and resource character
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A recognized degree, preferably in building engineering or construction project management or  building surveying or other construction related disciplines
