Infrastructure Controls Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project controls, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Engage directly with employer’s clients across various sectors including energy, water, transport, gas, telecoms, housing, and healthcare, to devise innovative insights and solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Formulate and implement project control protocols and frameworks to efficiently oversee scope, schedule, cost, and quality aspects within infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project benchmarks and monitor performance against predefined metrics.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, incorporating critical path analysis and resource allocation to optimize project timelines while identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Track project costs and expenditures, analyze budget variances, and deliver timely reports to facilitate well-informed decision-making processes.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks through thorough risk assessment, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings and presentations to keep project stakeholders abreast of project status, key milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Leverage project management software and tools to streamline project controls procedures and enhance project visibility and transparency.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project controls personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the team.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bids, and cost estimates by furnishing accurate and dependable project controls data and analysis.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Relevant experience in project controls or project management within the infrastructure sector, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
  • Previous experience in consulting or a similar client-facing role
  • Proficiency in Planning Software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent, as well as Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Solid understanding of design, construction sequences, and logistics
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and communication, particularly in handling complex programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with ability to analyse complex data
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders across all levels.
  • Great leadership skills with meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive, results-oriented approach to project controls management.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices in infrastructure development and construction.
  • Certifications such as PRINCE2® or PMP are advantageous.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field
